This website has served many purposes over the years, from the personal blog of an upstart financial analyst to the professional bio of a seasoned web3 and blockchain community builders. I’m Aaron Matthew Faulkner, a lifelong technology enthusiast, content writer, social and web3 community builder with a flair for the eccentric and a love for disruptive technology rooted in the distributed networks and applications of pre-internet era.
As we enter into a new paradigm of information and financial technologies, I’ve seen the rise and fall and rebirth of a generation empowered by easy access to a global community and though many things have changed, I stand by my conviction that the revolution will not be centralized…
With a passion for valuating the disruptive potential of technology, I started my journey into web3 and blockchain, I began my career as a working writer through freelancing on various outlets. Through 2015 to 2016, I was very active on the popular publication, Seeking Alpha. As an novice investor, I found this website to be a resource to those seeking financial literacy. I can’t explain how the transition from reader to active contributor exactly occurred, but my with a newfound zeal I was working towards teaching my peers as much as I was learning. This passion for onboarding and educating would serve me well as for the next chapter of my career.
Chasing John McAfee and Going “Degen”
This is where things get interesting. In covering Wall Street, I ran across the infamous anti-virus pioneer John McAfee’s re-emergence into the cybersecurity space through a creative reverse merger of his tech incubator assets that made him rich (on paper). The story, along with McAfee’s newfound wealth would unravel, but I found myself face-to-face with John and his inner circle who consisted of early Bitcoin pioneers Rodger Ver and Erik Voorhees.
